Traveling is one of the best joys in life. There is so much to see and do in the world. For the vegan, traveling to some destinations can prove to be difficult for finding vegan food sources. With a little planning, and a few tips and tricks, the vegan traveler can stay right on track with eating a healthy, vegan, diet.

Preparation is key for the smart vegan traveler. If taking a road trip, always be sure to pack a cooler full of water bottles, fresh cut vegetables, and fruits such as apples, oranges, cherries, grapes, and other items. If traveling by plane, it is always a good idea to bring some vegan sandwiches just in case the airplane doesn’t carry any vegetarian dinner or snack options. These sandwiches can be easily made by taking sprouted grain bread and topping it with mustard and a variety of vegetables. Wrap them up and easily store them in a bag. Green supplements are also smart to take. These can be mixed with water to get in daily greens if a juicer is not available. There are also many types of natural bars made of fruit and nuts that are convenient to carry in a bag. Follow these tips, for a healthy vacation.

Being a vegan on vacation can prove to be challenging. It is sometimes difficult to come by places that have vegan friendly meals or snacks. The following tips will help any vegan to be able to stay healthy during a fun and exciting trip.

One of the first things to do when planning a trip, is to look on the internet to see if there are vegan friendly restaurants in the area that is being visited. If so, write these names down and also the address. Always be sure to be prepared with plenty of vegan snacks such as fruit bars, vegan cookies, and healthy vegetable chips.I found some more information here. Pack cut up vegetables and fruits, as well as bottled water. If there is an area that does not have vegan friendly restaurants, it may be possible to stop a supermarket and make a delicious meal. There are often fresh produce sections in every grocery store with organic vegetables and fruits. When dining at a restaurant, there are often salads to choose from, just make sure to stick with salad dressings without eggs and milk. Many restaurants also have a wide array of steamed vegetables to choose from. Plan out a vacation, and staying on the vegan path will be easy.

Travel as a vegan does not have to be difficult with a little preparation and planning. Always remember to bring food along on the trip. Vegan crackers, energy bars, fruit bars, nuts, and dried fruits are great options to bring along. Also, find restaurants in the area that are vegan. Write down the phone numbers. Take advantage of kitchenettes at hotel rooms. These come in very handy when coming into to prepare a vegan lunch. Sometimes, there are no snack options in the hotel. A nearby supermarket will have all sorts of vegetables that can be prepared in the hotel room. Sometimes, the hotel restaurant is able to make up some delicious vegan meals for the ride home. They can often prepare a salad full of vegetables, or a vegan sandwich. Also, even if there are no grocery stores nearby, sometimes, there are local farmer’s markets or vegetable stands where fresh fruits and vegetables can be bought. Eating a raw diet is almost always easy to do on a trip because there is normally always the option to eat a raw salad or just a plain piece of fruit. Follow these tips, and going on vacation as a vegan will go very smoothly.Keep looking, there’s more: Sunflower Vietnamese Restaurant- a boon for North Austin’s Vegans

Vegans often have a particularly hard time keeping a balanced vegan diet when traveling. A new city can be overwhelming, and having to find and keep a vegan diet only adds to that confusion. The following tips can help a vegan traveler avoid mistakes and temptations.
Eating out is often difficult in for vegans, even in their hometown. For travelers, unfamiliarity can add to this confusion. When picking a restaurant there are several tips to keep in mind. Most Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Italian, and other ethnic restaurants offer some vegan options. Unlike most Americans, much of the world’s population do not rely on meat for their main protein source. However this is not always a safe bet. Many ethnic foods hide fish or other animal products in their foods. Some Italian sauces have anchovies, Mexican been are sometimes cooked with pork or lard, and many Asian foods have seafood sauces, even in meals that contain tofu. The best way to avoid this is to study the menu carefully, and when in doubt ask. Calling ahead is also helpful. Often even restaurants that do not normally have vegan items on the menu will prepare a special meal if you call ahead and ask.
